Yup, since they're together on one input. For input 2 you probably need a sync seperator.

Best is to have it switchable....

LM 1881 can really improve shit on some boards/setups and wreck it on others.

Where do you get one? How much do they cost? That may be a cool little tool to have around.

Is that a "T-View" system? we used to build those at my job.

They work okay, but you lose some of your color pallet, and going to a TV, you lose resolution. If you use a newer TV set, they run about 1024x768 at 60hz refresh.

When we built them, the technology was still new. The newer generation might have overcome the hurdles we faced. Please post your results as I am curious.

Edit: I just went out to look at the product... That's cool... Going from game RGB to VGA. Novel idea if you want to stick a computer monitor in your arcade game.

768 vertical lines would be perfect since most 720p monitors these days have 768 physical lines.

The Xbox 360 VGA output also has a degree of black fade, they introduced some sort of software solution that stretches the contrast a bit to compensate. I'm sure that something equivalent could be implemented in hardware.

Of course, on an LCD, you're going to have scaling artifacts if you're running input at anything other than the native resolution, or you'll potentially have a very tiny image centered in the middle of your screen.
