Every so often on a hit ball I see the field get distorted. It's just weird. Like the field is moved under the playing field. Anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like a dirty cart. Try cleaning it.

what's best to clean it with?
Well..I open my MVS carts and clean the conectors with "Dry" Scotch Brite (Green)..

The connectors come out to a shiny color, after getting off all the dirt or corrosion.

I haven't had any problems with any of my carts not working properly since I clean/ed them that way..
As soon as I get a cart in the mail I open it up,clean it this way and test it out.

I haven't had to clean the carts again after I cleaned them the first time, but other members have other ways..this is just what I do.

you mean a brillow pad?
No...

They sell these rectangle shaped green sheets of Scotch Brite at Super Markets..
The come 4 in a pack..

They are for the kitchen...and you can get the industrial red color sheets at a hardware store..

I use this stuff to clean all my carts connectors..
All my Nintendo games even work using this stuff.
I've been using that stuff for years, but there are other ways to clean the carts connectors.

I just don't like using any liquid on electrical parts.
