You should make a second faceplate where you can slide the MM into and put a light inside the supergun. ;)

You can just use an LED or 2 for the light. Sanded down so the light is indirect. Either way you do your SG it will be pretty pimp.

Be sure to put some fuses in somewhere , personally I prefer inline fuses.
ATX power supplies are pretty clean and exact but:
If you get a weak board FRY!!!
Some atx power supplies put out massive amps (10-20)

If it's an MV1C I would suggest a 3A fuse. There is also an on board fuse as well.

the idea is to use this for various neogeo boards dont need nor will tolerate having to change out fuses per board

Hard to say then as most 1 slots pull 1.2-1.5A on the +5v, the 6 slot pulls about 5.1-5.5A with 6 carts loaded.

That's pretty nifty. I was thinking about making a wooden box to house all my stuff, except I wanted to try and enclose the power supply inside the box. I like the way you did yours. I might try doing it like yours and just connect the power supply up externally.

As for extracting pins...if they're molex type pins Happ and those type of places sell pin extractors. They're oddly expensive though.

I bought a pre-made harness and it was missing some pins I needed, so I used a pair of long thin tweezers to yank some pins I wasn't using. It took alot of work and I probably bent them more than i should have. I pushed in the part that connects to the card in real hard with the tweezers and tried fishing around the back end to try and push down and wiggle the lip that keeps in in place. Not the most elegant of ways, but it got the job done. Once i got it out I had to bend out the edge contact out since I squeezed a bit too hard. Needed to make sure it'd still make proper contact.

In that picture you can kind of see the lip on the back edge of the pin, so essentially I used the tweezers to try and press that lip down and press the contact part in and push it out through the back end of the edge connector.

I have no clue what size pins those are, or even the correct name for them for used in the edge connector. If someone knows that'd be some handy info ;)

One question about the box...Is that glue of some sort holding the ATX connector in place?

Great job!

wood putty and it had two tabs on the side for holding to a panel. it was a 20 to 24 pin convertor atx cable

select comes from what pins in the jamma edge?
