Hi.
I recently purchased Red Earth via auction a few weeks ago. The game arrived last week, but I'm having trouble with it. Whenever I turn the power on, I can hear the CD running and all, but the on-screen image is an abstract mess of pink, white, green, and blue; definitely not the desired result.
First of all, this is the first time I've purchased a cps3 board. I have a Sigma Supergun that works fine with standard Jamma boards, and have a couple of CPS2 boards. I haven't had any trouble with them, so it must be the CPS3 itself.
I realize Red Earth (this is the U.S. version of WarZard, btw) is considered rare, so I'm not sure how many members here, if any, have this game. It probably operates the same as any other cps3 title. At any rate, the system came with the following (I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything):
A JAMMA-compatible PCB, with a CD-ROM drive that plugs into it via a few wires with plastic couplings that hold them all together at each end. Also running from the CD drive to the PCB is (for lack of a better description) a light blue plug that looks like a wide ribbon.
A cartridge that fits atop the PCB itself.
Two CDs. One of them came inside of the CD drive; it features a full-color picture of the game's marquee on what looks like a sticker label covering the entire CD. The other CD features the words "Red Earth" with a Capcom and CPS3 logo. The background is plain, with no colors, and in the foreground stands Leo with a sword drawn.
Part of the problem is I don't know what CD does what. When I contacted the seller, he told me the sticker-labeled CD was the one he used and everything worked fine. Also, at one point I was able to shift from the jumbled screen to a screen that read "CD Drive isn't installed properly", or words to that effect. I haven't had it the last several times I've tried to set up the game, though.
Overall, I'm REALLY distressed about the whole thing, as I spent a pretty big wad of cash just to get the title in the first place. Any advice (I hope), or places I should send it to get it fixed?
