Waku Waku 7 Universe Bios CRC check

I have a Waku Waku 7 MVS original and seems to work perfectly. The Universe Bios CRC check is giving me a NG in rom bank 1. This is the result message.

ID = 0225
Rom Region : B14DA766 OK
Rom Bank 0 : ACF61A95 OK
Rom Bank 1 : 9A83128A NG

I wonder if anyone else has this message for Waku Waku 7. I have almost every fighter on the NEO GEO and this is the only one I get a NG on. Or maybe this code is not in the CRC check. Any help would be very appreciated.

I'm guessing you have the Korean version?

Hi, thanks for the response but it is a Japanese version. The label has a small rectangular glossy shiny sticker on it that says SNK with the number 23040 and some Japanese writing around it. I thought it may be a repair but everything is factory soldered no repairs and all original.

All it takes is to have ONE single bit changed on the ROM for it to generate that error. That one big may not even be noticeable depending on which ROM it is in and where it is in the ROM.

If it's in a graphics library you may or may not even notice it... in the sound/music tables you may not even hear it. If it's in the program ROM though it will probably crash the game.

I just ran the CRC check on my Waku Waku 7 cart and had the same result. Rom bank 1 comes up "NG". Must be normal.

Thanks Neo Alec for checking your cart. I think this is probably a issue with the Universe Bios and not the game. Maybe Razoola can fix this in the Bios or look into it so others don’t think they have a defective cart.
