i have built 2 player cp for neo and xbox...the problem is neo using only one ground for all buttons but xarcade is using seperate grounds for each group...for example it uses one ground for buttons 1,2,4,5 and one ground for up,down,left,right...so i have 4 grounds...any help is desperately needed...i have wired all grounds together...how can i use neo and xarcade together? thanks

actually im wired DB25 connector to the jamma...i built my own supergun and the joystick works fine with neo... my problem is i also want to add xarcade pcb in it and when i want to play xbox or playstation with that, i will just need to disconnect it from neo and connect it to the console...unfortunately neo using only one ground for all buttons but the xarcade is not.. i have read many post about that...i wonder if i can solve the poblem via diodes or via another electronic equipment...

So you're saying the grounds are not all common? That makes no sense. If you have to do it with diodes then something is wrong.

i think im misunderstood...my setup for neo is working fine...i used common ground for all buttons...now i have xarcade byoac pcb that i want to use together...but that pcb is using seperate common grounds for button groups...buttons 1,2,4,5 are using different ground and up,down, left, right are using another different ground...thats whats making it impossible to use together with neo setup...i havent used any diodes or something...like topher said i daisy chained throughout the buttons and sticks for my neo setup...now all grounds are connected together...it is making impossible to add xarcade byoac pcb and seperate the grounds...maybe i just need to add switches to the ground of neo setup...than i will be able to group them like the xarcade pcb...

Again, are the grounds on the X-arcade PCB all common? Meaning if you do a continuity test with a multimeter they should be connected even if in a different "group".

So test with a multimeter if the ground groups are connected together.

No, no, they're not.

It's the stupidest fucking thing I'd ever seen

I'm 99% certain it has something to do with the fact that it seems like the XArcade PCB emulates a keyboard first, then is adapted for other systems.

when I went to go mod my XArcade adn found this to be true, I literally threw the thing away and bought an HRAP.

But that doesn't seem to be na option here. I'd pick up some third party xbox controllers and hack those pads for xbox functionality.

as taitai mentioned they are not common ground...in the manual of xarcade it tells you to use their test utility to test buttons or test using notepad...i tied..i opened notepad and tried using two groups ground with eachother but it doesnt work...i havent test it via multimeter but it seems that they are not common...only when i connect two buttons it gives me results ( showing letter ) ..and that letter is not exist on any button...so im almost sure that grounds are not common...

Dont even get me started on that disgrace. We recently had an SFII tourney here in Hawaii and when we get there it's CE which I hated already. Then you find out its on an ultracade. Then the 1 player side the joystick is crap, regualr happs. The 2 player side the buttons are sticking and the fucked up thing is when it was my turn I had to use the left side and as soon as the round started I couldnt go back or crouch so I get murdered which is even more fucked up since I was talking smack before the match. I complained about the joystick and they thought I was making excuses but any time someone complained about the 2p buttons they called a tech in.

Out of the 32 players about 90% of the people who played on the left side lost, seriously. I only remember seeing about 3-4 people winning on the left side.

Even more fucked up is the guy that I had to challenge was the guy I played all the time at the local arcade and ALWAYS beat him, he never beat me once. But of course on the day it mattered....

At least borg_jedi came in 4th place but could have won it if he didnt choose Zangief that time..lol

[/End rant]

So in short I totally agree with you. :D

The worst part is not the private owners, it's the machines located in less than savory locations that are setup to charge money. Being able to play practically every game handled by MAME in all of its illegally emulated glory cheapens the experience.

You could seek out a vintage Haunted Castle machine, oh wait here's a machine that plays everything. Wait as long as it's not legit anyway, you can download it on your PC and play it for free.

I hate MAME machines period. No arcade feel to them.

If I have to see fucking windows boot before I play any "arcade" games that just gay.

What would really piss me off is if I was playing on a MAME cab and then I got a blue screen of death. :lolz:

Windows XP embedded is now the platform for some arcade games. Taito Type X2, Bemani PC, etc.

:(

As long as it's not emulation and the game runs smoothly. At least those games are running on the platform intended.

Your question was pretty much answered. Get an HRAP if you want to do what you want. It's not gonna work with the X-Arcade.

it is going to work...because im going to use switches between the grounds...you just dont interested to talk about that...if you want to talk with someone about anything, just sent them pms or start new topic...im not talking about emulation here...

Grow a fucking thicker skin. This happens to threads all the time.

I would tell you exactly how to rig this so it works but forget it with that attitude.

Learn some grammar. I also like how it took you 8 minutes to come up with that response. You started the reply at 19 minutes past the hour then posted it at what 27 minutes past? So sad.
