How does the aes joystick test work?

You mean on the bios test menu?

0 is neutral, 1 is active. If you press A and the 0 next to it turns to a 1 then it works.

Hold A,B,C,D on the 2nd controller, then turn ON the system. You should arrive at the controller test screen. ;)

Actually I didn't know that either, it's not a stupid question at all. Thanks for the info KB.
