I had rgb signals but when I hooked it up to sync from my supernova- the picture went out.

The monitor no longer works with the Red, Green or Blue signals? Would this work if I could figure out whats wrong with the monitor or had it repaired? IT's a 21 inch monitor manf. in 1992.

The monitor itself has R G B H/V V hookups

17".. is this a vga monitor? chances are the synch signal was too strong and damaged the electronics.

I dont know? Couldn't find the info- it was free.

50/60 HZ

it's got a bunch of lights on the side
64K 49k 35K 31K they light up when you make a connection through the BNC

I Just measured across and it's aprox 20-21 inch. not 17

It's got individual BNC inputs for RGB H/V V and A d-sub input

You are plugging just the JAMMA connections into it right??? The RGB and SYNC output from the Neo Geo PCB should lead straight to the monitor.
You do not need the RGB to NTSC encoder when using an RGB monitor.

Ok- The encoder caused problems with the monitor... I was being silly and wanted to use the TV and a RGB monitor as desired rather than one or the other. I know not to leave the NTSC encoder hooked up when using the RGB monitor- din't realize it would cause a problem. I'm slow like that frown

If it helps you could probably just solder leads from the JAMMA edge to connectors for the rgb/sync.

Top side: #12 = red #13 = blue
Bottome side: #12 = green #13 = sync.

bnc connections, seperate h- and v-sync.. sounds like a VGA monitor to me.
arcade PCBs (unless specifically made for vga, hires) will not work on those.

Monitors which can't run at 15Khz sync actually like to self-destruct when you try it anyway. Not all is lost, however; if you live near a tall building with a balcony, drop the monitor off and enjoy the imploding sound and scattering glass. Alternatively, you can take the monitor for a walk in your backyard and throw hammers at it when no one is looking.
