Seems to be way more interest in Metal Slug 7 here than for this.

No accounting for taste.

Anyway, I checked this out for a while at the TGS yesterday.

Some notes that may or not be new/of interest:

BGs come from other KOFs as well as 98. Stuff in there from KOF 96 and 97 for sure. For example, the boat stage from 96 where you fight the boss team. The boss stage from 97 where you get to fight Orochi Yashiro and pals.

BGs look like their originals at first glance, but are actually redone and also in pseudo 3D. They actually seem to have done a pretty good job of reworking these, although the 97 boss team stage above didn't look they had put much time into it.

Goenitz is either THE boss or A boss. Put it this way, saw a few people beat him as the final boss.

A fair bit of the presentation has been reworked.

Overall, looked pretty decent and I'll probably grab it when the time comes.

Pfeh, it'd be nice if every boss from 94-97 made it in as a final boss, somehow.

I'm almost certain that will be the case. One boss determined on in game circumstances up until that point, like in NBC for example.

Rugal has to be in it, and I think I'm pretty sure I saw Orochi on the banners surrounding the game.

@ taitai

You like you Rick don't you! I don't think he is going to make it into the ending of this one though..

So, when does this come out to North America? 2009? I'm so sick of Playmore USA's method of releasing shit.

I don't give a fuck about when it is released in USA or Europe, importing is the only way to go with these games. Now, when will this come in Japan? It's been delayed for ages anyway.

Gamespot has the official trailer and it kicks ASS!

I love hearing that upbeat techno remix of the opening

And while I'm at it a couple of notes from Iggy at MMC

Several characters have new moves, lots of mild changes, and lots of new demo (Terry/Geese, Billy/geese (the same as in RB), Rugal/Goenitz (Rugal is crouched with his hand on his eye, then he stands up with his eye red, laughing like mad), Shermie/Brian...) . Lucky has changed completely, and while ura Joe is still lame, he has a few new moves.

Not only old backgrounds, but also old musics : with a Heidern/Ralf/Clark team, you will have their 95 music.

Anyway, 98 UM seems like a great update. I hope everyone has 'new' moves.

And if this is coming to Wii with online play, I'll definately have to get one.

I have the SNK catalogue here and it is only listed for PS2.

Maybe a Wii port will happen further down the line.

I don't know about new moves...I can see more BGs, perhaps, but why mess with a good thing?

They'd better not mess up with the balance. Hopefully they'll playtest it well (and if Playmore knows what's good for them, they will).

Regardless, instant purchase.

nice, i wonder why they didn't go for Korea, rather than kim team...

looking at the magic box, i wonder how official it is for it to get a wii release, though it wouldn't surprise me if it does get a wii release.
