Check it out <a href="http://www.sgrepository.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album01&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php" target="_blank">here</a> at the SGR

This was my very first attempt at creating a custom stick and i think it turned out pretty well.

For my stick i used a Hammond Enclosure like Mr. Wizard uses to create his awesome sticks. My button layout is based on JHendrix's Universal Sticks. I chose this button layout because i wanted preserve compatibility (button wise) across all of my consoles via the use of home made adapters. I also wanted to have the Standard Neo layout but also have enough buttons for Cpacom fighting games and other 6 button fighters.

Well i really don't know what else to say about my stick except that it works really great and is very comfortable. If anyone is wondering i am using Happ's Ultimate Joystick and Pushbuttons. Also I do have a AutoCAD R14 drawing of my joystick if anyone is interested in that, just hit me up via PM or email. I would like to put some kind of nice image under the plexiglass but i have no photoshop skills so the top enclosure is just going to be black for now. Well anyway that about it.

Again i'd like to thank all you tech support regulars and especially JHendrix for his informative site and Mr. Wizard for showing us where he was getting those sweet enclosures. Thanks to broken as well for creating the SGR and hosting my joystick pics.

Very very nice.

Mr. Wizard made one for me sometime ago, kinda like
yours, but with artwork.

Great job.

I saw this at SGR earlier today.

The only suggestion I would make would be to use a hood instead of the tape (if that's possible) or secondly heatshrinkable wrap over the end of the tape where the 15-conductor cable meets the connector. But that would probably be too much of a hassle now.

NICE work!

Those are some good suggestions, and i do agree the end connector is quite ugly in its current state. I'd love to get some cables that actually have ends that fit in the Neo controller slot. But i think i'll check into the heatshrink idea.

Yep,

Nice peice of work alright drool_2 . What is the extra lower blue button used for? Was it very hard hooking up the 15-conductor connector? Thinking about making one as well spock .

I have 8 buttons so i can use it on my other consoles. So i suppose its an extra button in the sense that no arcade games use 8 buttons. But systems like the Sega Saturn, Xbox, and Playstation use 8 buttons which is why i use 8 buttons.

Hooking up the DB-15 cable was quite easy. I just had to find out what pin went to what color wire and then look at the Neo pin out and wire it up accordingly.

HEY,that's one nice controller you made there.

I'm thinking of building on for my Supergun to play other Capcom and PCB game stuff.

Nice work! :)

Oh yeah??

Cool, how do you hook it up to your consoles? Looks to me it will only fit the Neo Geo Console?

If i want it to work on other consoles i will have to make some homemade adapters or buy a commercial adapter (if any exist).

I guess the thing to do now is get one of those Playstation to Neo converters and then just make all sticks PS now a days... since you can get PS to most system adapters anyway!
