I haven't played RBS yet but when my cart arrives I will answer. It seems that when you add Special to a Fatal Fury game it means just that.

RBS

Although there are some things I prefer in FFS: the fact that each character had their own stage, the background music, etc.

Overall though, RBS takes the cake.

But it's still not as good as RB2!

RBS is better than RB2.

Really? Why do you think so?

Not flaming you, I'm just curious as to what you prefer in RBS over RB2.

Personally, while I love RBS (possibly my 2nd favorite game on the Neo), I think RB2 edges it out in terms of graphics, animation and gameplay. Combos aren't as easy to come by in RB2, making it more rewarding when you do pull off a nice chain.

While I do miss some of the moves from RBS (things like Joe's charging knee uppercut thingy ), I find RB2, overall, a more satisfying experience.

All the Pre-RB FF games suck like no tomorrow.

RBS wins by a country mile

I'm not saying RB2 isn't good. It remains one of the Neo games I'll just play for a while, along with a few of the KOF's, and FFS (I'd play RBS, but I don't have it on my AES yet . ).

I just like the feel of RBS. Personally, I think RBS looks a tad bit cleaner than RB2, and plays a little smoother. I like the stages, and the way everything is set up in each background (looking at the plane in Hong Kong is great). I guess it's just a preference thing. Both games are great. RBS just makes me love it even more every time I play it.

Fair enough!

I played the hell out of RBS when I first got it for my Neo CD, even with the horrible load times

But then I was finally able to find a copy for my home cart system!

Unfortunately, by that time I already had RB2, and I found myself playing less and less of Special.

It's still a blast to play (just recently had it out as a matter of fact), but I just prefer RB2 is all - even after all this time, I still find myself going back to that title.

Both are great choices though - you really can't go wrong with either one!

I started getting into neo geo when fatal fury 2 was in the arcades,I loved the game and I still do today,I know with the ffrb games the backgrounds are great and so are the characters, but I just dont like the game play and this crap where you get rated for how you win each fight and then depending on how good you are you get an extra boss, just like mark of the wolves when I beat grant the first time and the game just ended and I wondered where kain was then I realised oh no,have to get good wins like real bout or fatal fury 3 and then just played it on easy mode and beat the living crap out of him, whats with the rush system too on the real bout games?

Talking of this subject,I finally managed to complete fatal fury 2 with jubei without losing a round to see his real ending,I did it with the other 7 players years ago,Also in ffs there was a cheat where you could change the background music anyone know what it is?they totally ruined krausers music by the way in the cd version of the game

mid game, press select, A, B, C, D, A (if im not wrong).

FYI on krauser music BG. thats da real music, da mozart's "Requiem" no# something. so dont compare to cart, coz in NeoCD u hearing REAL CD quality music. as for cart i think u listening midi type format.

i'm (as ususal) the minority here-
FATAL FURY SPECIAL.
it's classic, and has more personality and better music.
it's also hard as fuck.
