Hey guys, just throwing this out here quick :

I have a Machine with both of the Coin Acceptors sticking.

75% of the time when I put in a quarter, it gets stuck midway through, and I have to bang it for it to go through. But the other 25% it goes through fine.

What are some solutions for this? Any cleaning agents I could put on it, oil, some other technique?

Thanks!

It all depends on where and why it is sticking.

It's time for you to drop a bunch of quarters through it while watching. You might have to pull the mechanism off the door to see it better.

Some have adjustment screws in there..I think for coin size-or tokens
..you may need to adjust them to make the coin go through easier.

Just make sure that quarters only go through if you have the cab at a location..

It gets stuck in the first part.

It only goes into the slot, and there's a lever of some sort that should move forwards from the weight of the quarter pushing it, and then when the quarter drops almost below the lever the lever should move back into it's position, pushing the quarter down and through.

So there are adjustments for this?

Would you guys be able to help more if I took a picture of the mechanism, and where it's stuck?

I highlighted the Lever which is supposed to move forward, and then back to push the quarter through...

If it was taking quarters before, it may be dirty. Clean the trackway with soapy water and dry. Around the lever, make sure it's clear and perhaps some lubricant so that it moves freely.

Hope that helps a little. It's been awhile since I've dealt with a metal coin mech since all the games I have use either electronic mechs or Imonex plastic mechs.

The thing is it's not consistent.

When I held the camera to take the picture with a stuck coin, the coin went through twice, and the 3rd time is when it got stuck.

I'll try the Soap cleansing.
