I used to be a wiz at LB. Somewhere between one and two I got lost and I can barely get past the fouth fight without getting beat down miserably. I know everyone has been turned up a bit but GEEZ! I used to be able to run through level 8 with no probs with anybody I chose. Now I'm only good with Moriya. It seems as though the AI is a bit more trickier and I seem to lose because of unexplained things. What kind of things you ask? Well, like kaede's lightning bolt going through running opponents, kaede' qcfx2 +AB missing mid air opponents, basic attacks missing opponents that are in range all kinds of strange things! There's nothing more annoying than seeing CPU Moriya get a 7 hit combo barely making each hit yet when you try it you miss and get beaten. Ugh, I guess I need some human competition, at least then I can attribute my butt-kickings to someone else's skill not the cpu's speed.

I don't mind losing, but i'd rather lose to another player, a human player...

I play Hibiki, Setsuna, and Kaede. You interested in a few hints with any of those characters?

Well, i'm not really interested in any character really. I'm looking for general strategies against the cpu. i don't play any particular character more than another. One day i'll wake up and play setsuna other times it's lee, lately, i've been using kojiro and speed kaede.

Here is a cool Zantetsu tactic:

forward,upforward(long jump)
C(heavy slash),standing C,qcf+A,jump+A,hcf+B
(kick)
the combo is nasty since it takes more than
the half yellow bar and can shift blocks since Zantetsu can flip behind you!

And Lee tactic:

Stay crouch:
Keep attacking with C(Long fast sweep)
If they jump use the down/up motion,if the
sweep connects,quickly qcb+A,qcb f+AB(Speccial)

Hey These combos are for POWER only,The
upper too!

It's been a while since I played this game, but if this is the combo I'm thinking of (the one that ends with Zantetsu's disappearing throw), you can sometimes add a kick in there before actually throwing them (or at least substitue the "jump +A" with a kick instead for more damage).

And for real style points, turn yourself invisible before doing the combo - major cool factor!

I'm a pretty die hard Washizuka fan, and I usually stick to a few tricks when playing against Mukuro (the only challenge for Washizuka in LB2 IMO). W (washizuka) should keep a distance and toss the single projectile (not the B version with two slashes - too slow), and lure the opponent in. As mukuro approaches (running as per usual) jump back with a B slash and try to combo a standing b into a projectile (a slash) or his DM.

If you need to jump in, always jump in with the D button to repel, because the bastard is psychic, and knows when you plan to get offensive.

BTW- when you knock someone down, in power mode with Washizuka or Koujiro, immedately hit BC and hold it until the opponent is getting up. This is the unblockable, and both Washizuka and Koujirou have really awesome range.

If you're playing with Kagami, and you knock someone down, immediate do his fist in the ground charge up move(i think it's HCB+C), and build the rage gauge, so that you can try to do his super cancel next time you start up a combo.

Of course, a really good way to get good at LB2 is to peruse Deuce's faq. It is probably the best faq you will find on the game.

I no how you feel! i love lb 1&2 & to get used to lb2 can be very difficult if you play other fighting games.
Anyway i played lb2 yesterday & whooped the cpu big time (it also gave me a good beating two) on level 8 difficulty, The cpu has different approach settings leading to what they do.
example fighting zantetsu you should wait for him to walk towards you then repel when he starts to attack, if he runs at you he is going for a cammand slam so throw him back or combo him, if he runs & you jump he will perform his flash kick, so repel him.
What i learned is that this game has set patterns which they use at certain timing which which can be difficult! Like walk up to the cpu & do nothing intill he/she does one of the patterns then if you now that pattern you can afford to be more confident & bold with your movement. I have a small faq (1kb) that of course is not finished that was about countering the cpu's moves. I was inspired to do this when my moriya had trouble with amano in power mode, boy was he difficult. I know you wanted strategies but the strat is to wait for the cpu to do somthing first, enless you want to poke all day with one move then counter accordingly.

Usually when I fight Moriya,I don't launch and offensive(espscially jumping!)Instead I turtle a bit(just a bit won't make you a cheapie!)to the end of the scene.Moriya and Setsuna likes to charge towards you and preform combos when you stand still,so I wait till he charges then press Forward+c,dash to his fallen body and press A for an extra hit.
