Generally, I've had a good experience with Yaton - even though some say to avoid - but I've never received what I did not ask for. Games work fine and the prices are fair.

Recently, I order 5 carts from him. One of them was Metal Slug X ($40). The game came with only one screw in the case and after a good cleaning, does not work at all.

Yaton refuses to pay shipping and will not send a replacement until I send the cart back. I refuse to send the cart back until I get a replacement because I get the sneaking suspicion he will claim it works, and I won't get a replacement - or any credit for shipping.

I just wanted to post this in a public forum so Yaton could reply.

The only thing Yaton will reply with is something similar to:

"Hi yuo wan to buy supr 23432-in-1 jAMMA pcb 379USD"

*goes back to printing bootleg PCBs*

I ordered a game from him and it also did not work. When I sent it back he also found that it didn't work and sent me a new one. He refunded some of the shipping costs and I finally got my working game. I probably won't buy anything from him again just because the carts a little high to start off with and the shipping's a big excessive, not to mention the long time in transit. I also hate getting all those translucent blue cases he likes to put PCBs into.

Those blue cartridge shells are awful imo. I was just contemplating on tossing the one I have in the trash along with this ugly, warped beige one.
I just wanted to ad that I've never had any problems with Yaton . If you return the defective cartridge, he will replace it.

yaton won't disagree and claim it does work, in my personal experience and from everything I've read from others. He'll refund you once you send it back.

I got rid of all my blue shells too. I'm still thinking of replacing some of the more common ones I re-shelled and relabeled with 100% originals.

You can't get ones that are the same as the originals. You have to use an original cart, or a bootleg that used the shell from an original cart (like I did).

Give the guy a break. I had a defective MS5 cart and sent it back a few months ago. I then ended up buying one off of Big Bear and told yaton that i already got a replacement and just wanted a refund. He then gave me a refund including the shipping. I've bought a dozen or so carts off him in the past and hes always delivered and backed up his claims. If you don't want to buy from him anymore then thats fine, but regardless hes pretty good to deal with.

Personally never had a problem with the Y man. Anytime there has been an issue with a cart he has always made things more then right with me.

No. Shut up.

He sent me an untested MSX with three screws missing from the case. That's poor customer service right from the start. No excuse. The initial contact with Yaton following the issue made me feel as if I was the problem. Why should I cut him some slack?

On the plus side, Yaton received my defective game (which should never have been sent to me in the first place), sent me a new copy and refunded me for my shipping expense.

At the moment, I am fine, but I will wait until I receive the new cart before I conclude this.

If he rips you off tell ME

I live in Bellingham, Wa
which is 30 Mins from the Border to Canada & Ive been To Richmond where he lives.
He is about 45 Mins away. Ill straighten him out for ya.

Ive dealt with him and never had a problem. He even had some pretty good
deals about a year ago. Not so sure anymore.
Not sure who was on the Forum but they said his Apt has carts Stacked to the ceiling of different titles. Imagine a full room of nothing but carts.
Probably looks like one of those Crazy Mexican MVS auctions Ive seen on Ebay where they try and sell 5000 Metal Slugs Carts for $3,000 Grand.
And,
Of course his stuff always smells like smoke pretty bad.

I had to disinfect about half the games I bought from him but I did save a couple hundred for my troubles.

It's well known that a lot of his stuff is junk, but it doesn't sound like he ripped you off.

why are people defending yaton? lol. The guy sells TONS of bootlegs and we all know his crap is flilthy and even the legit boards come in fake cases.

That alone is reason to NOT defend him. Not to mention he sold me a bootleg and refused to give me a refund so I have 2 words for people dealing with him:

Paypal Chargeback.

(really more than 2 words tho :P)

You can already tell what's a bootleg and what isn't by the way he labels his sales. You should have been more careful. What's not okay is he started selling the bootlegs on ebay again. Actually, selling bootlegs at all is bad.
