I'm converting a neo candy cab BACK to a MVS Neo machine (someone had MAME'd it, poorly I might add) and have a couple of questions for you experts. . .

1- will a 6-slot PCB fit in a candy cab?

2- I want to play games in their original Japanese, completely uncensored. From what I have read, an american board will play even Japanese games in english and censored. Can this be changed with dip switches on MVS, or do I need to do something with the BIOS? Am I better off just buying a Japanese PCB?

3- The JAMMA loom of the cab was hooked into a Jpac board. I know that there are some differences between the MVS and JAMMA connections, am I ok since this is a neo cab, or do I need to be careful of any issues when hooking up?

Thanks-

so did you get that 6 slot dude? I think all you need to do is reconnect those QDs on the jamma harness that go to the speakers. Check the connections on the harness against this...

What carts did you get anyways?

wow, that was fast man.

Haven't made the jump yet, want to make sure it fits, I heard the 6'ers are too big for some cabs, but I imagine it'll fit.

Thanks for the .pdf

dude Im loafing today and procrastinating getting started on my work. Something about the all nighters zapped my motivation to do anything but loaf.

Get a unibios and you won't have to worry about censored games. Most MVS games have a soft dip violence setting, so generally all that is being censored is Mai's bounciness in a few KOF games.

Thanks, Topher.

From my understanding the BIOS is software, but is contained on a chip on the PCB that needs to be replaced to change the version of the BIOS.

Is this correct?

Yeah, it's a socketed chip on the PCB with the 6 slot.

Which Neo Candy is it? I know that there is no way a 6 slot would fit in mine...

It's a 29, not sure what the exact model name is, but it looks like the one on the top of this page-
