How do I get to Kain in MoTW?

I've heard you can only face him if you finish Grant off with a Super. I've already tried that; no dice!

Just got the U.S. home cart btw-I'm in my glory Easily the best graphics of a Neo game IMO.

I have an authentic Jap MVs version and I have not been good enought to get to him (yet!). I think you have to not continue and not lose to Grant to see Kain.

There are requirements, but they are very simple to figure out. You must have an AVERAGE rating of AAA for all of your won rounds in order to face him. It does not matter if you continue, loose a round, finish Grant with a special or whatever. So long as you have an average of AAA, you will face him.

Every S, SS, or SSS is cushion, anything below AAA (AA, A, etc...) brings your average down.

NP guys! Best of luck!

Oh, and BTW, Lockheed, your Avatar is from Rock's ending...which is a really good one. In fact, all of the endings are beautiful, multi full screen endings as well. Worth the effort. Although, a mem card save at Kain would be recommended.

That was the only thing to annoy me about Garou (Except no Krauser) I would have preferred a "Secret" Fighter after Kain if you did really well, instead of just fighting Kain, and having to make do with a lame ending if you don't.....

Ryo-just beat the game with the King of Fighters himself, Terry Bogard! Great ending!

I'd been getting worried that SNK was getting lazy with character endings. Glad to see they still appreciate good characters and storylines.

Can't wait to see the others...

I only got to play MotW for a while at my arcade before they got rid of it for MvC2 and I thought it was just like pass Grant and then it's Kain.I didn't know it was like Real Bout 2(?)where you have to get certain grades just so you can verse Geese

I thought you always fought Kain because every time I played it with Rock in MAME, Kain was always the last guy. Maybe I'm just so good that I always have a AAA Rating.

Correct, ION, on the beta ROM that made it to the 'net, you always finish with Kain...but there are no endings. The combo possibilities are slightly different as well...although I am not sure which are possible on what version. I just kno wthat they are diiferent.

There are endings, but you need to set it to console mode..... Theres a load of garbled text on some of the endings though, which is a put-off

I just beat the MAME version about an hour ago. My battle record had nothing below a AAA...and I even got one miracle rating! It is true that there are no endings and the text is messed up. Mainly because the MAME version is an unfinished prototype. Also, not only is the text messed up, but it is switched around to where it doesn't make sense. I feel kind of cheap playing it this way...but, $700 is alot of money to be buying a home cart for. You guys that own that particular AES are truly hardcore. Truly.
