Very nice!!! How did you get to the $150.00 cost? I may want to build one myself. Do you have a parts list?

check the site.. I didnt build it (unfortunately)

he does go on about how its built..

I'm wondering mainly about video/sound and power..

obviously the hardest bits.. gah

Jeebas! The guy paid $210 for a 2 slot board?

At $370 for the whole thing I think you would be better off with a cab.

it hooks up to the TV with ANY standard method that the AES would hook up..

its got an RGB->NTSC convertor inside.. look at the pictures with the cover off..

Yeah, I know. For me, I would still rather go with a cab, and he got seriously ripped for the 2 slot board.

hmm,

how hard would it be to power a board? you cant just use an ATX psu can you..

(I know nothing about electronics)

I would really love to build a 1slot based thing, I think I would need to learn about electronics and soldering/etc first :(

also, working out how to power/show video would be difficult

If you wanna build something like that guy, I would suggest maybe use the PSU from Saturn OR PSX, it is in PCB foam and small, cheap too.

hmm, I have dead PSX's around..

you sure that would power it?

I think i've seen this before. I remember when one guy made a portable MVS (1slot) It's amazing what you can do if you have the time and the electronical know-how. I'd love to build something like this myself but I posses neither the skill or the time. It'd be nice to have one though. Heck i'd pay good money to have somebody make me one.

I've been reading faqs and reading sites I don't usually read.. (www.gamesx.com , www.hardmvs.com), and looking into JAMMA and stuff..

the slippery slope into multiple electrocutions and dead mvs boards has begun.

it seems pretty easy to wire up the JAMMA with a PC PSU..

if you got an MVS board with joyports/memcard slot then your set.. you wouldn't need to wire them from the JAMMA interface..

the tricky parts are the video output, and I noticed its got a voltage regulator.

admitting I know absolutely nothing about electronics, this would be quite hard for me to build, I'll hold on to my AES until I find someone capable of building it.

I will learn basic electronics, it doesnt seem "too" hard.. I would add an AES bios I think..

I need the schematics for the voltage regulator and the rgb->ntsc convertor next, I know someone who could build these.. so its a start..
