Playing King Of The Monsters, and I cannot get the damn energy bolt to work! What the hell am I doing wrong?

Are you holding down A & B and waiting for it to charge?

I think I see the problem. The contact for one of the buttons is intermittant, so despite the fact that the button is held down, it receives a signal as though I were tapping.
