so I have a rgb supergun with a scart lead, and a hantarex 28" videowall monitor. I'm using a computer power supply: 200xa1 (400w).

I have no real clue what to do or what I'm doing but I can't for the life of me get this thing to run properly.

the supergun is european btw, as is this monitor.

when I switch it on I get a scrambled image - actually seems to be flickering to the point that it just distrorts - because when I move the scart plug on the back slightly I get the flickering to slow down for a very short instance - enough to make an image of the game. if I loosen the scart enough that it's almost pulled from the back of the monitor I get a grey screen but the graphics can be made out although they're shadowy and with no clolour.

speakers connect directly to the supergun and the sound works.

so what gives. this is a bloody headache.
cheers.

Try a different power supply, and a different tv,in different combinations so you can figure out which is the cause. At least you don't have a encoder involved it sounds like.

I doubt its the power supply. Kinda sounds like maybe a cap is loose on the scart or a ground issue.

Have you tried it on any other SCART tv's?

If everything is grey and has like a "dotty" look to it,
the 60mhz on the telly might be busted.

Happened to a TV of mine.

if the image is flickering maybe its a sync issue

have you tried checking continuity of the sync pin out the supergun/jamma edge through to what should be correct sync pin at the end of your scart cable

probably worth repeating this for your RGB signals, and that your gnd is good

also, does the monitor have mulitple scart sockets? if so, you might find only one of them is capable of taking RGB

worth a try.....

monitor works fine, and there doesn't seem to be any issues with the scart input on it since I've tried a couple of other things on it and they worked. as I say, I can get a grey image with barely visible outlines for the game being displayed - if I plug the scart lead in very loosely to the point it's almost detatched - as soon as I push it in a little more you see a distorted but recognisable image of the game being played for a split second - in colour - and then the image distorts completly with colour lines down the screen, which I think is due to the image flickering so much.

I don't really know what to look for, you'd have to be very simplistic in explaining since I'm a bit dumb.

Do you have a european scart plug or a japanese scart plug? They are wired differently.

I got the supergun from a french guy who makes them (I think he goes by the name of jotaku?) so it's european I'm almost sure.

bump.
assuming this is the issue, what should be looking at with regards to the wiring?
the scart imput is the same as the neo geo one.

The input maybe the same but have you checked the inside and looked at the soldering? Something may have come loose.
