Sensitive brightness and contrast on Astro City

Brightness on my Astro has been acting up, sometimes it flickers as I'm pushing buttons, other times it just flips from dark to light. Contrast only flickered today, but also when pushing buttons.
When I open the CP, it ends up correcting itself, changing as I open and close the door. I cleaned the video controls, and I tightened the middle screw on it, with no problem after. It wasn't tight at all before I took the piece out. I won't know for awhile if that really fixed it.
Is this problem, flickering while unit moves around, in relation to that middle screw or caps in need of replacement?

Yes could have been the remote board. The one on my astro 2 is quite touchy.

Yeah, with the screw as loose as it was, it almost seems as if the seller loosened it so the board wouldn't take any shock during shipment. But I turned it on again, and it still does it.
