How does Sengoku 3 stand up?

I just ordered sengoku 3 and was wondering how it stands up to beat'em up classics like Streets of Rage 2? I've been wanting a good beat'em up for some time. I cant find many reviews on the game besides what is in the review sections of Shawns site and wanted some other opinions.

If you liked the Streets of Rage games, you will like Sengoku 3. It is the best game of its kind for the system.

It is a true Brawler Masterpiece. The background are rather simple, but the characters an animation is G-R-E-A-T! Oh, it plays great too!

i agree,
the main character have good animations

but the enemies are always the same ... <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

for the first three levels, you can fight against (only) four type of enemies

from the fourth level there are some new enemies


I like the combo system (similar to dodonpachi)

once yo see the enemies on the later levels it kind of makes up for fighting the same soldiers again and again

I played it a few weeks back at a local arcade and its the best side scroller I have seen on neo. looks great , sounds are decent and it plays well. it has some decent combo moves that you will pretty much need to use in the later levels.
I dropped 4 or 5 bucks in it and had a blast,I liked it so much that I came home and ordered that and Zupapa from M.D. mine should be here this week and I can hardly wait !
