ok guys here is the scoop

i just took out my control panel and the coin assembly out from my Neo Geo MVS to get powder coated. everything is all over the place and its a mess. i made notes on where all the wires went and the boards are just sitting free in the cabinet, everything looks ok at this point, i just moved all of the buttons out of their slots, nothing drastic as well as the boards that were in the control panel. i am terrified that when i get everything back together, it won't turn on or blow or something, can anyone give me some advice who may have done this? did everything work out alright? thanks a bunch. -adam

As far as the control panel goes, don't worry, there is almost nothing that you can mess up its all pretty straight forward.

Even if you mix up a wire or two on the buttons it won't have any negative effects. A button simply won't work but it won't blow up your monitor or anything.

So hook everything up and then just troubleshoot.
