The best and the worst Metal Slug?

For me the best of the series is X, I like the leength and multiple paths.

The worst is definatly 4 ,its ok , but it just isnt as good as the others.

Anyway, I can't realy choose cause I like to play them all about equally, except for part 1... Which I think is the worst by a little. Not that it's bad at all. As far as best, 2 X 3 and 4 are just as fun to me.

Objectively, I'd say Slug X wears the crown. It's classic Slug action without too many aliens, a fair balance, great graphics, cool bosses, much less slow down than in 2.

Asked what Slug I play the most, I'd say Slug 1, with Slug 4 closely behind. Both give me the real Slug feeling, unlike 3, which is a great game, but I'm more into slaughtering soldiers and military stuff.

There isn't a Metal Slug I call "worst", just "least favorite" :D

My favorite would definitely be MS3...and my least favorite would have to be...oh, Ms1...but that one's still awesome also.

METAL SLUG X!!!! best EVAAAAA...I still havent played MS3 and 4, so I dunno yet, I love them all ^_^

MS2 doesn't count to me, since Slug X is just a slowdown-free MS2. There it is....

the worst METAL SLUG 4 .... its nothing. i think its not SNK, so thats the problem with the gameplay and levels.

msX-waaay cool plus a giant ufo at the end.

ms4-i just don't like it. maybe it's the fact that you drive enemy vehicles. or no tarma but i don't like it.

as Shikimikoto said before there is no such thing as a "worst" Metal Slug game, as its one of the most awesome game series of all time.

My favourite has to be Metal Slug 3 because it just blew me away, my least favourite is probably 4 even though its still awesome.

MSX is by far and away the best in the series imho.

Slug 4 is the worst... it's fucking shite, and then some. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

Loads of variety in 3, lots of different enemies and vehicles which, for me, elevates it above 1,2 and X (Just).
4 is ok, but I really can't forgive Mega for re-using graphics for almost all of the backgrounds for the first 4 levels. It also has some utterly tedious sections, like in the tomb on level 4 where you stay in the same place for about 5 minutes just shooting mummies.

As far as I can tell, only mission 2 reuses almost everything graphically. I thought all the backgrounds on mission 1 were new, and I don't feel like doing a scientific survey of the game, but I think at least half of the backgrounds on all other missions are new, pretty sure that missions 5 and 6 are all new. Not to say that it's not a downside that they obviously reused things in quite a few places.

Always seems like I have to correct people about what kinds of things are in the slug games. Next thing you know we'll get another guy claiming that X has a lot less aliens than part 3. Yeah, the aliens only appear on 4 missions! And then there's only 1 mission with almost all mummies. So you have only 1 mission in the entire game that is free of any aliens or monsters: Mission 3.

I have to get a Slug game!! It's really something missing from my cab. Btw, which one you're fighting aliens and which one you're fighting humans. I had my sight on X as a beginning or maybe 3 but can somebody can lend me 500$?(KOF 2k1 & MSX or MS3 new kit) ;)
