I have a single cart MVS that I am trying to repair. I have through reading your site figured out that I had a power issue (screen apeared green with garbles). I have tried replacing the power supply unit with a ATX PSU. The fan of the PSU will only turn on if I have the +5v lead disconected. Any help would be apreciated!

Try the other +5v line. I think with ATX there are 2 different +5v lines.

Make sure you are using the red wires for the +5v.

If you are using the 5v standby you will fry it. It's only good for 1/2 amp.

From what you describe it could be any one of a number of problems not related to the power supply. Have you tried powering on the unit with all Hard DIPs in the on position? Its possibe the sysyem has a calander or backupRAM error which doing this may help to show.
