Hi All,

I am writing because I made a mistake assembling my SuperGun and I ended up sending -5V to the pin 3 and C on my MVS-1FZ Slot.

When I switched on, the on-board led just blinked quickly and the AT PowerSupply fan didn't even start.

Now, I fixed the issue but when I switch on the Slot, I am getting a Green screen with a few big pixels here and there.

I was wondering if I blew up my Slot, or if it's still a problem with my SuperGun?

As well, if I blew up my Slot, is there any way to fix it? Which part is the most likely to be damaged by this mistake?

PS: I have another MVS-1FZ Slot which has never been working, perhaps I can take parts from both Slots and make on that works ?

Thanks in adanve for your help! :help:

Have you ever tested the board / cart combination you're using before? The screen you're describing just sounds like the normal POST it does before booting the cart. What do you see when you try to start it with no cart?

Have you tried giving both the cart and slot a good cleaning?

2 things...

1. What does it do when booting with no cart?

2. What does it do if you swap the BIOS chip out with one from the other board?

Make sure that all the dips are off.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm getting my second board tomorrw, so I'll try with the second bios.

So far, I tried to boot with the Dip Switch 1 on On to get into test mode. I don't have any game yet, so very limited testing capacity.

I do get this Green screen when starting the board without a game and with this Switch 1 On.

Thanks again!

OK, so what is your 5 volts set to now. If low it may cause this sort of problem.

Now my +5V is running at abnout +5.1V and connected to the right pins.

This afternoon, I'm going to a friend's place, he has a SuperGun known to be working, I'll check how far we get.

Thanks for the help !

Hi all,

alright, I was able to run some test on my MVS-1FZ board.

I inserted a UNiBIOS 2.0, when I started the board, I got the UNiBIOS configuration screen, video and joystick both work fine at this stage.

After the configuration has been done, I selected Start Game, but at this stage, I get a black screen and nothing happens. It just stays there and doesn't boot.

I tried my MVS cartidge, UNiBIOS and SuperGun with another MVS Board, and there, it works fine.

Would you have any idea what the -5V to the JAMMA pins 3 and C could have damaged?

Thanks!
