I have a Japanese PS3 so I am real happy about this. It sucked just playing on the Japanese server, not many people online only a couple of matches going on at time.

Servers were down last night and when I logged on this morning, there was some sort of notice about the downloadable content on the PSN, so should be all unlocked pretty soon :)

Famitsu are reporting that the new content is delayed until the middle of June. However, there are some changes:

Server unlock is now free - you don't need to buy the new maps for it.

If you do buy the new maps, you can also use them in off-line multiplayer mode.

I played some co-op but on both occasions the people I was co-op ing with were a bit crap so it wasn't as fun as it could have been.

On-line multi-player is a blast. Currently playing quite a lot of one hit kill games. Pretty intense. I know quite a few people that just got wasted on-line and never played again, but if you stick at it and raise your game it is addictive as hell.

I haven't played this game in a bit, been busy with other ones. I'll definitely dust it off when they open up regional play though. Hope to see some of you in game. Time to buy a bluetooth headset I guess..

Well I just got a PS3 and Resistance and think that it is okay. I played through a couple of areas in the offline mode and then went online for a few matches. Online was pretty good but there weren't a ton of people playing. (I think the biggest game I was in had ten players)

I had played a bunch of FPS and 3rdPS on the 360 and never needed to mess with the sensitivity settings. But for some reason, it took me a long time to get it right in Resistance. I finally settled on 4 but it still doesn't feel right. I don't remember any of the 360 games even offering a sensitivity setting and they always played perfectly.

Regarding online, do any of the games offer a guest feature like some of the 360 games. (Where two or more players can play on one system via split screen online)

I will probably try some co-op this weekend to see how that is.

co-op is fun

even though I made this thread, I don't really care about online play

I'll probably try it a couple times, but meh

I am hoping to try the co-op this weekend. It looks like there is four player split screen multi-player as well, so I may try that out as well.

Online wasn't that bad, I just expected the games to be bigger after reading that they can hold up to 40 people. I will probably play this game offline mainly.

What sensitivity setting are you using (if you know). I am still messing around with them and 4 or 7 seem to be the only two that come close to how I think the controls should work. Other than that, it is a pretty good game.

How does it not feel "right"? Usually that's a product of either too little acceleration (which sucks because console games don't let you change it) or a sign that they haven't tweaked it at all and simply map pad*acceleration=movement (in Halo, for example, the sensitivity bumps itself up when you are turning for more than ~.25 seconds).

It is hard to explain but I never noticed the problem with Halo or Halo 2, or on any of the shooters on the 360. (F.E.A.R., COD2, COD3, Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW, GRAW 2 or Gears of War)

Resistance feels a little jerky when moving the gun view (right analog) around, left and right or up and down. It just doesn't feel that smooth to me compared to the other games I mentioned and I don't remember any of those games having an option to adjust the sensitivity. (And if they did, I didn't need to use the option as they felt right from the start).

It seems like I have played other games in the past (different systems) that offered the ability to adjust the sensitivity and in almost every case, the controls never felt smooth.

I think Resistance is a very good game I just wish the controls were a little smoother. I really don't like having to mess with the sensitivity. It seems like if done right, they should be smooth from the start with no need to adjust or option to do so.

I never have a problem finding big matches in Japan. There are always quite a few 40 player games on the go, and they are nearly always full, forcing you to find some matches under the max player limit.

If I can't find any decent matches to join (rarely) I jump into ranked games.

No where is this patch???

Just played about an hour of co-op with my wife tonight and I like that a lot. I actually prefer that to the online that I played the other day. Still getting use to the controls but it is a pretty good game.

According to Sony in Japan this patch has been delayed once again. Now the release is supposed to be sometime in summer...

New announcment by Insomniac just after the online agreement.

Can anyone translate what it says, as there is too much Kanji for me to read.

Yeah. Servers are getting raped at the moment, so it may take a while to update.
