Difference between Sanwa sticks

Besides the obvious design and construction differences, are there any noticeable PERFORMANCE differences between Sanwa JLF-TP-8T Ball Handle Joysticks and JLW-TM-8 Ball Handle Joysticks? Do these have the same feel and response during play or is one superior to the other?

I'm not sure how to put this, but the JPL feels a lot more mechanical than the JWL which is a lot smoother, specially with an oval gate. This however doesn't mean than one is better than the other, is just a matter of preference, but you cannot loose with either choice.

JPL with an octagonal gate feels awsome, you see I'm a Super more than a Competition guy (Talking about Happs here) so I like the freedom that the alternate gates offer.
