Exactly what is the cirterea one needs to meet to fight Kain?

I've heard you need to average AAA, but that seems to not consistently work.

Just finished a game with -
SS = 1
S = 1
AAA = 10
AA = 1
A = 1

If that doesn't average AAA I don't know what does.

I've heard that you can't lose any rounds, but I don't think that's true.

Does the game have to be set above a certain difficulty level?

Speaking of difficulty level, what is considered the normal MVS difficulty anyways?

If your playing it on MVS...it could be a BOOT if you cant get to Kain. Doesnt matter what level of difficulty you are playing on MVS...you fight Kain on any difficulty level.

You have to have a good average to fight him. If it's a boot, you will always fight him.

Average over AAA or keep the game on level 1 and you should be okay.

Just played another game -

S - 3
AAA - 13
AA - 1

Still no Kain.

Are you allowed to lose rounds?
Are you allowed to continue?

I finally got to him.

You have to average AAA and not continue.

Cool.

I've gotten to him with continuing before.

I think you may have to finish X number of matches with DM's too, but that's just a theory of mine.

You can continue, but I think it lowers your average some. Just finish every match with at least an S rating and only continue once or so (if needed). After about an hours worth of practice this shouldn't be a problem.

On the easier difficulty levels it's no problem at all.

Higher levels it presents somewhat of a problem :)

What is the default MVS difficulty level?

The way it works is actually like Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory. Whether or not you fight Kain R. Heinlein is derived by an amalgamation of:

1) Your ratings after each round.
2) Whether or not you continue.
3) Number S. Power/P. Power round finishes.
4) Amount of time it takes you.

I'm not sure if #4 is really a factor or not, but it may be. After playing the game I'm pretty sure the order I listed the factors in is how the CPU prioritizes them to decide whether or not you're worthy. :)

You can cuntinue but don't chose any helping bonuses, just press D for normal game and you should get to Kain.
