As if by magic...
I hadn't thought about the possibility of using this as a flash cart replacement - anything that makes a homebrewed cart more likely is good in my book... Want me to stop the auction and get this one over to you?
I've not had it apart but, from what I can remember, I couldn't actually read the cart in PocketSend when I tried it last. I'd give it another go, but I don't have a PC with a parallel port any more (isn't progress wonderful?)
Well, I don't want to take any money away from you.
Problem #1 is that I no longer own the linker. I do know someone that dumped the ROM for one of these, so I know it's readable with the linker. He had to dump the first bit, and then decode/decrypt the menu and use that info to figure out how to swap over to the other parts of the card. It works kinda like a GBA flash cart, as far as I know. That's the beauty of these N-in-1 carts over the Bung carts. They actually implemented a base-remap system to allow the selection of multiple ROMs.
Problem #2 is that I don't have the tools to build the hardware at this point. I've been working with some other guys that do, though. I know one in particular that might be able to take this cart and turn it into a new flash cart. I also know someone that wants to sell the carts. So, if these things all combine, it might make for a new flash cart available on the market. Though, I don't know if its design would be open or not.
I guess the real answer would be, sadly, no. I mean, it's really tough to turn down a free cart that I've been interested in owning for years. Though, I just wouldn't feel right having you take it off of eBay and lose money doing it. Of course, you should have asked me before you listed it.

From now on, everyone on this board should pass everything by me (for free) before listing on eBay.
I will, however, get ahold of the guy that is trying to design the new flash cart. If he could use this as a reference design, then it'd be a great leg up. As I have never seen the inside of one, I can't say if it'll be useful or not. Though, I do know that the Bung design has been replicated (in design, not in production). Having a new version of the Bung cart (with USB instead of parallel) would be nice, but having one with the base-offset-remapping feature would be way better.
