Garbled AES graphics problem

Hey guys,

I was wondering if I could get any help fixing my homecart system.

Basically, when I try a game, I get a screen full of broken graphics, with some games being worse than others. For instance, Fatal Fury has transluscent rectangles of pinky-red here and there whereas my copy of Blue's Journey sometimes has bits of the bottom half of the screen at the top etc. I'll try and get some screenshots up soon...

Some more info;
I'm in the UK and I'm using a standard Megadrive psu. If I turn the system on with no cart, I get a split second of garbage followed by a solid green screen. I've given carts and machine contacts a good old scrub. It had obviously been opened up sometime in the past prior to me owning it, which leads me to think it could be a more serious long term problem.

Anyone think of any possible causes? Failing that, are there any reliable folks in the UK who could fix it if it's something serious?

Thanks in advance,
Pete

So - basically your AES is probably broken...
