Will Side Schrolling Games Still Be Made

I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing another 2D Contra anytime soon. Side Scrollers will always be around. Heaven knows I need something to play when I get tired of autoguard, cheap priorities and everything else that companies keep sticking into fighters.

I could only turn to SNK to get a real good side schroller. We wont see any old school contra or castlevania anymore. But what does it matter when metal slug 4 is coming?
