I have a 4 slot red with I believe a 25" monitor almost burnt out. What do I need to look for for a new monitor?

Also, can I just swap from any old cab's 25" monitor? Thank you very much. This is all that keeps me from neo greatness.

An original dedicated big red? If it is there's no way that's a 29" monitor. Should be 25" standard.

I'm sure your right. Seemed more like a 25", but I thought I remembered being told something different.

The standard 4-25 cabs came with 25" monitors (get it--4-slot, 25"). See this page to verify which cab you have:

http://www.hardmvs.com/xml/usa/usCabs.htm

Any 25" STANDARD RESOLUTION monitor should work. Be careful not to pick up a MEDIUM resolution monitor as it won't work.

I think the default monitor was a 25" Wells-Gardner K7000.

You should be able to verify this on yours. Look for a sticker on the metal part of the monitor's frame or on the circuit board itself.

Don't poke around with metal objects while you're in there. Monitors hold a lot of power and can be dangerous if not handled properly!

If you're comfortable with electronics, you might be able to fix you monitor. What exactly is wrong with it?

Its burning out. Picture is getting more & more blurry & dull. Its just very high in use hours. I want to find one for under $300 if possible, but I don't know how easy that will be...thanks.

You can call them up and they match you up with what you need..or fix yours..
I don't know if there is one near you..

They are local to me so I deal with them..no where else close enough for me to walk in a get stuff from..

Replacing the capacitors is all it may need (cap kit). The caps dry out over time and become less effective and the performance of the monitor drops tremendously.

Obviously, a new monitor would fix that problem too.

I wouldn't recommend walking home with a 25" monitor :D
