So far nobody knows what it is so I finally got some pics of it. It was just stuck right next to the cartridge slot like in the first pic. It is magnetic too.

Do you have kids? Or did the previous owner have any? Looks like a childs toy or a part to some toy or learning set. But thats my opinion.

It's got to be something that some kid dropped in there. Kids love stick things in slots. I once had a customer at work who was overjoyed to use his credit card. It was weird enough I asked him about it. He'd been looking for it for a couple days and had just found it the floppy drive of his laptop where his toddler had put it. VCR slots are easy targets too.

Normally stuff like this would be pretty obvious, but if it's magnetic I guess there'd be no rattle.

QFT

When my neice was very small, her dad tried to put a tape in their vcr but found it wouldn't go.

Opened the flap and found half a sausage and a leg from a doll stuffed in there.

My niece loved to put all kinds of stuff in the subwoofer hole of her dad's stereo speakers. No one ever knew what could come flying out from there when you put on a record, haha... Kids are cool!!

When working in Gamestation a guy came in with a falty ps2 slimline and after 10 minutes of trying to figure out why it wasnt working. I found a 5 pence piece stuck in it. like properly lodged in. lol
