KOF SDMs performed...

Hello everyone,

Did you ever perform an SDM or simply a DM exactly on the same time as your human opponent? Well, I did today with a friend of mine. And it was very funny, because the picture went like *stuck* for around one second. And you all know one second is a hell of a long time in KOF!

We tried again, though we had gotten into a hit or miss technique but succeeded two more times in performing our DMs exactly on the same time. Funny how the Neo actually resolves it all! The screen just gets stuck for a while!

Has something similar ever happened to you?

Yeah, this is a funny situation!

In Street Fighter this is cool when you have a match with projectile fighters and both fire a Super projectile!

The point I am trying to make is that it's quite funny to see how the Neo resolves it all. I still wonder what tools SNK programmers used to encode their games. So far, I've been roaming the Net, picking up informations here and there but never succeeded in finding answers to my questions.

Being a "programmer" too, I would like to discover how they encrypted the move charts, the SDMs priorities etc. I think it's in C+ but I'm not sure. A friend of mine told me it could be a specific SNK language runned onto a PC with a straight emulator, before the final cart carving.

I like "chasing" such little bugs!

Also, there are sound glitches in KoF2k if both a computer opponent and the player pull off (S)DMs at roughly the same time. The music stops and all sounds break down for about a sec or two. Just one of KoF2k's many "holes".

Kofs are known to contain many bugs...
More and more after 98' though
Did you ever check the net for videos ? some funny things to (try to) do...
Infinites, bugs with flying characters, etc...
The best ones are the "Task Over", when it seems you just hit your oponent too hard and the console stops, with Task Over in middle of the screen...
There's one in 97 and several in 99...
But the 97's so tough i couldn't do it myself yet.
