I'm curious about this. I have to say that The Last Blade is by far my favorite handheld fighter. I also notice myself playing it more than the original version (either 1 or 2 for the neo). Perhaps it is because I can play the ngpc wherever. All I know is that I can't get enough of this game.

Is anybody else in the same situation, or am I completely delusional?

I'm with you! Love last blade especially the NGPC game due to its ability to be enjoyed on the go. Of course playing with a joystick and with enhanced graphics on a larger screen is welcome I say I like them both

Neo Geo Versions are better but damn, NGPC little stick sure does make playing the NGPC version more enjoyable then the Neo versions.

I think someone should make a console joystick that uses a ngpc click stick.

It's called the Neo CD Pad and it sucked. Then again, it wasn't exactly the same, and the NGPC stick is definitely superior, but maybe a tad too small...

I was considering buying LB for NGPC, but I wasn't so sure... Looks like this post convinced me.

I played the hell out of the NGPC version and enjoyed it a lot. I loved unlocking all the stuff and the gameplay had really similiar combos to the neogeo games.

Overall though I enjoy the Neogeo versions much more. The beautiful animations and large characters make it one of the best neo games and a good game to play competitively.

Out of the two neo games I like LB2 a little bit more than 1. I find the gameplay to be just a little be better two players. Sometimes I go back and forth... really wish there was a LB3.

NGPC Lastblade was one of the best games on the system, but Snk vs. Capcom was a bit better.

NGPC Last Blade is a gem. It has a sickening amount of unlockables and I believe it melts LB1 and LB2 into one. I'd say SvC is the best NGPC fighter, but this one is 2nd.

The Neogeo versions are superior. And also down to the fact it has blood and slice finishes. Thats simply icing on the cake. Obviously, there is no comparison. Heavy 500 megs on a big screen vs a pocket cartridge.

I used to be an LB1 fanboy but lately I prefer LB2. I realised I don't really like many of the LB1 cast, while LB2's newcomers are all great additions.

Yeah it does blend LB1 and 2 into one game.

The first play through you get the LB1 intro and boss / story, second play through you get the LB2 intro and bosses.

I could never get all the scrolls though :crying:

I don't think the 2 titles are comparable, but I agree that Last Blade on the NGPC is a marvel to behold, particularly the way they managed to retain all the character moves, combos, super cancels, the 3 modes --- power, speed, extreme --- and the marvelous animation in intro, cut scenes, and endings. Everytime I see that necklace drop into the water during the LB2 intro it still moves me enough to shed a tear just because it's so beautiful. And the backgrounds are fantastic too. Loss of Juzo is a bit of a bummer, I love that guy, NGPC probably had some difficulty in handling Shikyo/Mukuro's spamfest so he was left out too, loss of the grappler Shigen is a shame, and removal of Nightmare Kagami is a bummer, but considering how many of the rest of the cast they retained, it's amazing.
