Does anyone else feel this way after playing SNK fighters?

While at Best Buy today, I saw Samurai Shodown 2 for the PC for $10.00 and decided to pick it up to hold me over until my AES arrives. Anyway, after playing SS2 on my PC and KOF '99 Evolution on my Dreamcast, I popped in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and was simply ashamed. It's like I've been mesmerized by SNK. I just can't get over the insane amount of detail that SNK pumps into every little aspect of their fighters. Not only that, but the Alpha series just feels flat out bland to me now and I doubt that I'll ever pick up another Capcom fighter again. With that said, I feel that SNK has won me over with nothing but pure quality the likes that I have never seen before. Hopefully, my AES will be here tomorrow! :)

I felt the same way. After watching a two-hour anime marathon, I felt so energized, that I had to expend my energy the only way I knew how: by playing video games. I started off by playing Street Fighter Alpha 3, but the thrill lasted only about 13 minutes. After that, I put in KOF '99 Evolution, and played it for a full hour (I was only going to play in for about 20 minutes, but I was hooked). Further proof that SNK games have a higher appreciation value (and that they're good for someone coming off of an anime rush).

I dunno. When I played SS2, I got bitchslapped by the AI. And take note, I'm no scrub. Needless to say, I didn't felt good after 2 hours of swearing at Mizuki :(

it says basically

"please insert this the correct way around"

because some retard would possibly put it in backwards as it does fit.

Im starting to get that feeling too...the more I play Garou and Last Blade 2, the more I get hooked on them.......I've not even turned on Capcom Vs Snk, or Streetfighter Alpha 3 since I bought both Garou and Last blade 2...!!!!

Never cared for Samurai Shodown myself, but anyway... a good SNK fighter is hard to put down. And because it's a fighter, you can play it as long or as little as you want. It's good to just pick up and play inbetween classes or all night... whenever.

I love SNK games right now, it's just amazing how addicted I am. But I can still go and play CvS2, cause its just a great game, even though it's a Capcom game.

I can still play MvC2 cause that's almost a whole different game. I can play just about anything, but the bar is raised for me now. It's not as easy to impress me 2D fighter wise.

Peace

I've had this SNK is superior feeling for quite a few years, but I can still go back and play Capcom games and enjoy them for what they are.

I love SNK as much as Capcom too but Capcom needs to get with the program and stop making such bland characters, i mean I like the newer capcom characters but not all of them. SNK usually gives their characters and extra bit of "panache" (hope I spelled it right). I luv Capcom to death but they need to get with it.

The only Crapcom games I think are ok is Alpha 3 and the first Street fighter 2. Other than that the only game system that delivers is NEO !!!!!!Samurai and KOF will always be the best !!! :D

I've felt the same way. I started playing King of Fighters '99 on the PS and I just couldn't get off it. I was hooked on it. The same happened with King of Fighters 2000 in the Arcade.

Once I stop to play Street Fighter Zero 3, I just shut if off. Capcom games are boring. They are cheesy and pathetic. You can't even do that much in Street Fighter especially in combos. I get bored of doing the samething in Capcom's games. In Snk's games you get to do more and it's a fun game.

I remember playing World Heroes 2 in the arcade more than the Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and VF series combined. It was simply more fun to play and the audio/visuals were just pleasing to look at. SNK games have always done that for me. Well...except some of the SNES conversions....ewwww.

More what? All I see when I watch people play KoF2K are popular characters being overplayed and a ton of striker combos. All the damn time.

Maybe they do have more to offer (like Kasumi's countering, or Ramon's... weirdness), but no one's gonna see them if no one plays them. Same with Capcom games. Always Ryu, always Ken, always Akuma. To hell with Adon or Sodom or even Zangief.

All games (not just Capcom's and SNK's) have a lot of playability in them. If we could just stop playing the populars and check out everything...

So quit bashing Capcom. All game companies are equal.

Yes that is true. When People play capcom games they base alot of what they experience of using Ken, Ryu and Akuma. They never give people like R.Mika, Rolento, Guy, Adon, Dudley(full of depth), Yun, Yang etc a try. Ironically you mentioned Adon and he is my best character in all fighting games, my wins totally outnumber my losses with him. He has depth, He has at least 3 ways of ending his super and how many characaters do you know have that? Capcom characters have lots of depth its just you have to pick the right ones instead of picking former Street Fighter 2 characters.

Sometimes I just don't think people wanna give Capcom a chance no matter what Capcom does.

Doesn't help that Capcom keeps sticking SF II characters in all their games either. I definitely like most of the SF III and Zero characters more so than the SF II characters.

Yeah, Capcom fanboys are the same way when it comes to SNK.

As for the original question, it depends on the game actually. I don't see myself wasting hours playing RBFF2 when I get far more enjoyment out of Vampire Chronicle.

This kind of details makes SNK so good. The different intros of the fight if you meet some characters is the perfect example.

"Meta-ukyo" i was in the same timezone as you, when alpha/zero 2 came out so did kof 95 & samurai 3 a little later. Thats when i relized the difference in quality. Then later on i played kof 96 & it was the first game that made me walk away from the machine, after seeing how different it was to the others. That was when i bought me a neo cd.
There was this chinese guy at my arcade who was pretty far ahead of me at the time. 2 years later on kof 98, i whooped his friends with my 1 character, benimaru... After that he would not challenge me. Hyahyahyaaa
