SS4 and LB2 are two very good games with very specific gameplay.

But Tiger Road rules <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" />

Last Blade 2. I love the SS series, but the damage on SS 3 is cranked a bit too high! SS 4 is my second fave weapons fighter! :D

I really don't get why people say SS4. It sucked so hard. SS3 beat it by a mile. Damage is too high? Okay, prove it. How fast can you win your first match in SS4? How fast can you win your first match in SS3?

For me, I can win the first match (best of 3), in under 12 seconds using Genjuro, Tamtam, Kazuki, Sogetsu, Ukyo, Haohmaru, Jubei, and any other character with a good ranged C attack. I'll take them out in 2 combos - each one consisitng of 2 hits. Level 4 of course.

SS3 is a lot different. The AI thinks a little more even at the first level. I can get into an infinite with Genjuro and take out the opponent in about 10 seconds per round, making it 20 seconds on the match. Total hits needed do exceed 4 to kill the opponent.

So SS4 definitely deals out more damage. The palettes are bland, and the only good music used in the game (which was rare if you heard music), was rehashed form SS3 (Genjuro's track being the best in the game).

Now I may hold SS4 at the bottom of my list, but I do love playing as Kazuki with the exploding pants.

EvilWasabi: I like SS4 as much as I like SS3. The gameplay is similar...overall it sucks in single player. Those two games are kickass in the vs. mode! SS3 has well done shodown-backgrounds, while ss4 features more characters and a better atmosphere due to most normal backgrounds looking better.

I really like a high damage level because you really have to watch your step. That's why I always play SS1 on Hard and not on MVS, because the enemies deal MUCH more damage.

I think it heavily depends on your personal preferences. :)

I don't think there is any one single best weapon fighter on the Neo.

They all have their good points, and while some are certainly better than others, I couldn't really pick one.

I guess my fave is SamSho 2 because it just is special to me. But I don't think I would really call it the best.

But SamSho 1 as also brilliant, as is Last Blade 1 and Ninja Masters (Ahhh, Karasu).

But LB 2, SamSho 3 and 4 (For different reasons) and even (To a much lesser extent) Kabuki Clash all have their strong points and are among the systems best.

I can't choose between Samurai Shodown 1 and 2.

There's no possible way to do it.

Why didn't they bring Seiger and Cham Cham into SS3 or 4? Seiger is just plain BADASS!

Wasabi! SS3 has definately lacks in gameplay! It takes only 2 fierce slashes with Haoumaru to kill any adversary. And SS3 has not got 2 life gauges to make it up for.

In SS3 the Special Moves are rather useless, due to the fact that they do not enough damage. So the whole fight ends up in a jump n slice orgy.

IMO it is the least part to be worth playing.

If a Sam Sho 5, please with Gameplay of 4, Atmosphere of 3 and char selection from SS 64 would be released.....

Most definitely the answer is Samurai Shodown 2. Last Blade 2 is a close second.

The longer life bar solved nothing; just made matches longer, nothing more.

Getting rid of Hard Slashes altogether would have solved the damage problem in the entire series easily.

Wonder why no one's mentioning the short matches of the lst two games. My friends and I have some stories about those short rounds.
