MV-1C consolization question

I am about to consolize an MV-1C - got a few questions...

1. I am gonna pass audio through scart - is there a way to make it "tv safe" (voltage might be too high?)?

2. I read somewhere that 12v is not needed for the 2 slot - what about MV-1C?

3. Some TVs dont switch to RGB mode unless the voltage is 3v (as opposed to 5v). What resistor do I need t drop voltage from 5v to 3v?

4. If I remove the black plastic cover, will carts insert securely or it will be a bit wobbly?

Thanks :smirk:

I sent you an email.

1. If you remove the audio amp you only need 5v.

2. See above.

3. The 3v it is referring to is the line voltage coming from the G or synce line which I beileve is 3.3v not 5v.

4. The game wont be wobbly at all unless you have a loose cart.

Thanks a lot for the info!

How much ohms does a resistor has to be to drop 5v to 3.3v?

Thanks!

The line is already at 3.3v

I am in Europe, we use an RGB/Scart connector... for sync I need to feed 3.3volts to the TV but the psu outputs 5v... so I have to drop it to 3.3... am I right?

You're confusing yourself. The PSU outputs 5v to power the unit but the sync outputs 3.3v to the TV via the SCART. You dont have to change any voltage.

Well yeah, and when am I going to get the 3.3v from? :) I am using a mini PSU thingy which only outputs 5v + 12v... so the 5v has to be dropped to 3.3volts :)

Dude you're making me laugh. :lolz:

The sync already outputs 3.3v, just because the PSU is pushing 5v doesnt mean that everything is gonna output 5v. If you want you can check it yourself with a multimeter, you will see that the sync outputs 3.3v.

If you are asking where the sync is it is Jamma pin P

Oh yeah you are right :) OOOoops.

I meant pin 16 of on the scart cable. It needs 3 volts or so otherwise certain TV sets wont go in RGB mode ^-^

I read somewhere on another thread is that all I have to do is connect 5v to pin 16 via a 100 ohm resistor :)

Nostromo, the blanking signal on pin 16 of the scart needs 1-3v (not 3.3v) to switch the TV to RGB mode. You can easily get that kind of voltage values by putting a 100ohm resistor in series with the 5v line to pin 16.

Sometimes, when a power pin is not present (e.g. in a VGA cable) it's possible to use the sync for the same purpose but the above method is obviously preferable.

I think MKL or toooddddy know way more about this than I do.

I dont know anything about SCART. :crying:

RGBSCART > Svideo, composite ;)

MKL is the King of SCART :)

In Italian scart sounds like the word for trash/discarded thing so i like your definition ;)

Consolise mv-1C

I have some questions! I just bought an mv1c PCB. And an hammond case.

1: if i do the stereo mod which caps is no longer nessesary?

2: do i still need the heatsink and the thing mounted to that?
Thanks
