Help Translate CFC2 - Ingore the Drama.

Its 2007, CFC DS just came out and is a huge let down (and possibly riddled with glitches - see CFCDS thread), and things like Samurai Shodown RPG are getting a translation.

CFC2 got a pretty shitty fan translation that was never finished.

Im pretty sure Boks got a translation of alot of the stuff laying around (or could whip one up in no time).

Why the fuck dont we have a translated CFC2 yet.

Lets make the shit happen somehow.

[Not saying I could do it or anything, I cant, but we have plenty of people here that COULD.]

I'd say any talk about any sort of translation would be encouraging.

Beggars can't be choosers.

I mean they already have the translations done for cards and menus. all that's left is the story.

Come on, Nesagwa, what was so bad about the fan translation other than it not being completed?

The comment about Babelfish was more of a "Is this better than nothing?" question.

Let's just say that this project is in the stage of deciding whether or not it should be picked back up. Currently, if it gets re-started, it would probablly look something like http://crisistunity.com/justp/ and we'd need people to help translate.

I'm excited that people (like myself) are becomming interested in this again, but I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of respect for original project. Though, perhaps that will be what ultimately makes continuing worthwile.

Mostly just talking about Bokmeow. He lives CFC, its kind of scary actually.

He translated the entire CFC DS card list into english (readable english mind you) on his own.

So yeah, pretty sure.

Well, that could be done by someone that can read Japanese or by someone that "lives CFC."

Show him the JUSTP site and see if he'd want to help do it for CFC2. If we can get people interested in doing the translation work, it is way more likely to happen. I'm not excited about doing the technical work just to have it go idle like it has for 5.5 years.

Guess what? You can't indignantly and insultingly demand things and expect random people to cater your whim.

I stand corrected. You can do that. But it won't help achieve anything.

Maybe I'll give it a try. "Hey, I want some fucking cake! It's about time you assholes got me some cake! I don't know how to make cake, so I demand some baker do it for me"

So, how'd that go? Did you generate any interest?

Also, how about changing this thread's title? I mean, it's flattering to have my name there, but it probablly doesn't attract people that might be interested in the actual topic.

Oh also, Wasabi, I looked and you're probablly right. Though, I don't think it'll help out more than Babelfish. In fact, I doubt that either will help out much at all.

Just a tiny update for you guys that might care.

I heard that the translation work is somewhere around 3/4 done, now. That's pretty good especially because the guy doing the translation work is now done with classes. I'm assuming that will allow him some more translation time.

I'm thinking that when I get the translation from him, I'd like to build a test release. Then, I will probablly want input about problems and such. I expect that there will be things like the text being too long in places and stuff like that.
