Where can I find an IDE cable with the 10th hole not blocked? All the ide cables I have here have that hole blocked, but the PCB of course has all the pins without one removed. Any help would be appreciated :)

that pin was never used from my understanding. you can always cut that pin. i believe it wont matter. i did that on some ide adptors before

look closely at the cable...

Some have a little plastic pin stuck in there that you can remove with an Xacto knife... other it's molded closed.

On the ones that are molded closed you can use a tiny tiny drill bit and fix that. ;)

That pin isn't used so it doesn't matter if you drill out the hole.

The key is getting the right pin then....

if he cant figure which pin on the motherboard to snap off.... then he needs to back away from arcade stuff in general and get himself a rombox. lmao

after he snaps off the right pin and files down the nub left he can use standard cables for now on. no need to modify any more ide cables ever again.

Then i'd suggest modifying the cable and not the board ;)

Got things under control :) Just bent the pin on the board, and the game fired right up. Got some adjustments that need to be done to it (gotta oil the wheel, and adjust the monitor), but thats all minor things. The game did reset, but Ive got another HDD to try, on top of plugging in this big fan again (it was loud). But so far, so good :)

just snip the pin and use a file to remove most of it to the plastic part.
