just bought an aes froma well known member on this board. the system was working great, so great i decided to modify it with a/v outputs so i could have stereo sound. after the mod is completed everything is working great all 4 games look and sound amazing. so last night i get my universe bios in the mail. i install it and turn the aes on, the screen is garbled up. i pull out the bios and notice that one of the pins is broken off, i found it later in the envelope it was shipped in. so put the old bios in and i still have a garbled screen, what can be wrong and how do i fix

How did you install it in the AES, socket or directly on the board?

Make sure the original Bios is in the correct way around. BTW did you get my email in relation to the broken unibios? How is the pin actually broken btw, is it totally snapped from where it enters the chip or from where the pin width changes? if its from where the pin width changes you can probably repair the pin if your good with a soldering iron.

sorry i didnt check my mail yet, but the pin is broken right above the spot u mentioned. the bios is socketed. if the controller ports are facing you i installed the chip with letters right side up not upside down.

i actually figured it out. i didnt notice that one of the legs on the chip was sticking out over the socket. i fixed it and it worked. i then tried again with the universe bios and pushed it in harder and now that works as well. thanks for trying to help me out guys i appreciate it.

If you are good with a soldering iron I would still suggest you repair that pin as you may find it acts up if the console is moved while playing for example.
