which ship do you prefer in Blazing Star

One of the best things about Blazing Star is the selection of ships.

My best two are Windina and Hell Hound. Not sure how I can rack in the points so much better with hell hound, but I just do. However, I feel that I play a better looking game with Windina. Moreover, I really like Windina's B charge attack.

I want to like Aryustaylm (the gun blade ship), but I suck with it. I always pull the charge shot by mistake.

I prefer the same ships!

Hellhound's homing missiles are very useful
and Windinas wide beam and spreading charge are also "hard stuff"!!!


But although it is not my favourite Shooter!

Yeah, with Windina I never get the "yeah!" "woo!" or "evil!" but I'm usually hammering on the A button like mad to to get the wide stream out.

I find the hardest ship is really peplos. Unless you use the charge shot, you can't hurt people, because her normal shot sucks.

yeah.

actually, I like the Dino 236 alot. That shield is so handy... I can just sit in front of a ton of bullets and fire away. Too bad the firepower sucks.

But it's Charge Beam has fucking high concentrated damage! And if you let it explode via B-button it is nice fireworks, indeed!

Yeah.

So is it true that the Dino ship were time release? Because I set my machine to MVS and it doesn't do shit. All the ships still appear. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Sorry, I had the home cart and there were all 6 ships available right away!

I like the Windina best. Got my highest score (over 20 million) with her. DINO246 is better for survival, but it takes forever to kill bosses... might be the only way to survive the Stage 6 boss on one credit though

I play almost exclusively with the Dino 236, but I've been known to use the Hellhound on occasion when I want a change of pace/play style. The Windina is a neat fighter, but its primary attack is so maddeningly overpowering that it sorta cheapens the game for me. Granted, the Dino 236's defensive capabilites grant extremely unfair advantages in a few of the game's tight spots, but I feel that, on the whole, it takes more skill to play with the dino 236 as opposed to the windina. However, if you're mainly interested in showing off "mad skills", try and clear the game with either the Peplos and/or Dino 135. Both of those ships are very underpowered.
