I do plan on eventually picking up both games. I might get pokemon sometime this week if I can find it. I never played any of the pokemon games before and was originally going to get one of the gba ones to try out first. After reading ign's review stating this is the definitive pokemon game, I decided to just get the DS one. I have a ton of games to play and finals in school so I am gonna hold off for a tad.
Cadfighters I will most likely be getting next month. Been waiting imaptiently for this game.

I'll be picking up cardfighters right away, damn pocket version stole many hours of my life hoping that this one will be just as addictive. Anyone know if it has wifi mode? Might pick up poke'mon a bit later on, but I'm not really excited about it.

I'll be all over Pokemon on day one.
Been a big fan of the series since the beginning.
Didn't really get into the last incarnations though, simply because I didn't have any people to fight/trade with, but seeing that we've got WiFi to work with now, I'm honestly more excited about this release than I have been about any game for quite a while now.
Of course I'll be snagging Card Fighters as well, but I'll probably be too engaged in Pokemon to bother playing it much.

I'm in the same boat as Joe. I was a huge fan of Pokemon when the game first came out but NONE of my friends got into the GBA versions. With the inclusion of Online FRIEND games (no random battles...) my friends seem to want to play this more.
I hope I can pick Cardfighters up NEXT month, with Pokemon and Paper Mario I'm going to try to focus on both of them before I pick another one up.

no one had pokemon. my friend went to get it at midnight. he's already doing all this shit. i'm so behind. i have to wait for it to get mailed to me. i've been playing the games since red and blue came out. i love these games. i'm just waiting.

Just pre-ordered Cardfighters this morning- hopefully there won't be any delay. I love the first 2 CFs.

I've only played Blue (and then I bought red just to get all the Pokemen...), and really, it was an amazing experience. Everyday in 5th grade, and I mean it, all I would think about was going home and playing Pokemon. I logged 200+ hours total on both Blue and Red. But after that, I was all poke'd out and never played a game in the main series again.
But now, for some reason, the Poke fever is burning in my blood again...

So far the Sinnoh region is still reminiscent of the Hoenn and Kanto regions, so nothing really new.....yet.
You can get online and battle other trainers. So I'm sure in the next few days there'll be a "Post your Pokemon Friend Code" thread popping up.

i played the crap out of blue and red. everyone had pokemon and everyone wanted to battle in school. it was pretty cool.
i never got gold/silver when they came out, i was either too busy playing blue/red still or just didnt care by then.
i did pick up sapphire though. i logged maybe 8 hours in it, just wasnt feeling it.
no interest in fire red/leaf green as i had played the gb ones enough.
but damn im really liking diamond. 2 badges, my guys are all around lvl20.
i just got to the town with the 3rd gym and im not sure what to do. i hope i dont have to bother with these stupid pokemon contests.
oh and sup with berries? whenever i pick one the whole plant dies.
