Voltage Requirement for AES Sound

Just wondering since my brother says he tried using an adjustable PSU which has 3, 4.5, 6, 9 and 12 volt settings and outputs only 1000mA.

Is that enough because he said he gets picture but no sound on 2 different AES systems he's trying to repair.

I don't know for sure, but 1A is probably too low. Those adjustable ones have their current rated for one of their lower voltages. That 1A is probably for the 3.3V or 4.5V setting.

I've heard of people using old Genesis power supplies for that. I just checked one of mine and it's rated 9V at 1.2A, for what that's worth.
