Before I start, I would just like to thank all the people that have been helping me with questions concerning the cabinet I just got; you've all been great!

I just fired up the unit this afternoon & the monitor is amazing. No burn in what-so-ever! I am not sure if this is the original tube, but it is basically flawless. The unit was made in 1997 by Midway/Atari (stickers on back) & housed a 4 Player game. Not sure which title, probably an NBA game or Gauntlet Legends.

Anyways, I'm getting off track. The cab has two speakers on it's control panel & one larger unit in the base of the machine. I had a 2-Slot running in the machine today (for testing) & find that the audio doesn't sound great. I am sure it sounds correct (proper for cab), but it's lacking the umph I get in my home theater.

Is there anyway to get more bass out of the setup? Do any of you have a dedicated receiver/amp with speakers/subwoofer that accepts line level audio from the PCBs installed in your cab? This may sound crazy, but I would like the cab to output far better sound than it is now.

This will be my main form of playing PCBs now (no more SG) & I'd like to enjoy the arcade experience.

Thanks in advance for the help,
Kpj

Kenny is the cab wired MVS or standard jamma?? If it is wired mvs , then just buy some nice car speakers, and it will sound way better. If its not, you have to rewire the cab for MVS (stereo) as opposed to Jamma (mono).

The cab is no longer "wired" for anything at this time. I gutted the machine completely to rebuild it (paint, fix, etc..)

I did hook up the speakers properly for MVS sound (stereo), it just wasn't that impressive.

I want the sound to be a bit more bassy (explosions, punches, kicks, etc..)

Then some serious car speakers are the way to go.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
