Hey guys, I bought up a Turbo Duo system from retrogamesopt on ebay and returned it to the guy with his 30 days Full REFUND no questions ask policy and he didnt return the full refund.

I finally got an email today from him with the return amount of $385. Was supposed to be $415.00. he pockets $30+.

Heres his email:

Dear knownkiller,

Hello, I have just refunded your paypal account $385. As you know the Duo
is missing a foot. Also, Forgotten Worlds and Ys each have a few scratches
on them. Plus, it looks like the controllers have some wear and tear.

Once again, I am sorry to hear that you have fallen on hard times and hope
to see you back soon.

Thanks and please email with any questions.

I only used the system for 20 mins the whole time i had it just to test it out.

He kept telling me when i asked to return the system that i'll get a full refund aslong as he gets it all back and in the same condition he sold it in. Now i understand that but since he kept repeating himself with the As long as its in the same condition and checks out, you'll get the money back or i'll buy it back from you for the amont its worth now after damage.

I know its $30 bucks but still.. If the guy wants to keep some of it he shold have a deduct 15% from the return like most.

I told the guy about the foot falling off and that i put it in the large white box that has the P/S,A/V cable and Duo Tap when i packed it up and he was like no biggy.

I thought it was fishy that he hurried up and took down the picks of the system right after i paid for the acution.. (Which looked like generic pics not of the items i recieved anyways).

So now he has a eBay Unpaid Item Mutual Agreement for Item for each item in the return that i have to reply to so he can get out fo the ebay fees.

What do i do as its probably gona come down to his word against mine?

Well, it sounds like his reasons for keeping the $30 are bullshit. "Wear and tear" on the controllers.:tickled: That being said, I am not sure it would be worth your time to go after the $30. It is kind of sad to say but with Ebay/Paypal, your loss is pretty small compared to what it really could be.

If you really want to push it, I would just ask him to explain how he came to the $30 amount. (And see where it goes from there)

Well i got a response from him.. Hey i need to pay for the listing fees which are non refunable... So what the hell is this ebay egreement for non payed/returned items that he opened on ebay..

Dispute status: Your action needed.

eBay user retrogamespot has told us that you have mutually agreed not to complete this transaction or that you are returning the item.

If you confirm that you have agreed not to complete the transaction or that you are returning the item , you will release the seller from any obligations they may have to you. eBay will not take any action against your account because of this.

Please note: Both you and the seller will still be able to leave feedback for each other regarding this transaction.

How would you like to respond?
I agreed not to complete this transaction and/or return the item.
The seller will be eligible for a refund of their eBay fees.

We have not made an agreement to cancel this transaction.
The seller will NOT be eligible for a refund of their eBay fees.

Reason given for Unpaid Item: We have both agreed not to complete the transaction.
Buyer actions reported by seller: The buyer returned the item for a refund.

So he says he wants money for the fees and thats what the $30 is for then WTF is this for???? Extra money cause i'm a nice guy???

Yeah man, thats kinda fucked up. He shouldn't tell you "ebay fees are non-refundable" when he already told you you could get a FULL refund within 30 days no questions.

Yeah, if I were in your shoes, I'd try to get the $30.

That being said, consider yourself fortunate that things aren't considerably worse. Ebay is a horrible way to buy electronics. I'm currently in a dispute with a seller who sent me a broken jamma board that was listed in the auction as working.

Ok here another response i got from this guy:

Ok, I understand your viewpoint. Let me just explain all the costs that go with listing and then relisting these items. If you agree to the terms on the 5 items returned, I only get back the final value fees. The original listing fees are never reimbursed. So double those listing fees for listing each item twice. Those I will not be able to recover no matter what. When I list items, they are listed through Channel Advisor who I use to manage my listings and inventory. Each new listing costs money through them as well. Also, paypal charges 2.5% of all items paid for, which are not recoverable.

I objectively looked at each game and saw a few scratches on the Ys and Forgotten Worlds discs that I did not see before. I suppose that I must have missed them if you didnt even play those games.

So here is what I will offer you. Another $15 refunded if you would please agree to the terms ebay sent you on the 5 items returned. Please let me know if this is ok with you.

What a bunch of bullshit.. I have to be charged for his listing fees and on top of that the cost of him RE-listing the items again on ebay???? What the..

$100 bucks says if i agree with his new terms, i dont see the $15 back.. If anything give me the $15 now and then i'll agree to the ebay dispute.

Welp i just screw it and agreed to take the $15 and call it good. Though i said give me the $15 first then i'll agree to the ebay dispute so you get your fees back from ebay.. He wants me to agree to it then he'll send the cash afterwards.

So far no quick reply like before.. I guess he's not interested in getting the fees recovered.

Welp i just threatend to close the disputes so he cant get back the ebay fees.. and leave the comments as "seller withheld money to cover the ebay fees so he dont need money back from ebay".

No message back from him still so i might just start closing 1 every couple of minutes. Eat the $30 for the satisfaction and trouble he's gona have with ebay trying to get out of the fees.. Which BTW all 4 games that i returned he had in his ebay store and not listed. So really the only ebay fees for the system was the .40 cents insertion fee and maybe a .35 for the picture in the search engine and the final value fees which he already took from me.

Heres how it ended.. Kind of cunfused why he lashes out at me when all i'm waitin for is the money back.

Seller:

I really do not want it to be like this. How about $20 and then you will agree to the terms from ebay?

I say:

Fine.. Send the $20 and i'll agree to the ebay disputes and you can recover the ebay fees. I just dont want to end the disputes and then never see the money back you offered.

Seller:

You're acting like I am a dishonest person and I do not appreciate that. If I make you an offer, then I mean what I say. I will send you the $20. Please agree to the terms afterwards.

I said:

Well i'm just covering my end.. Once i do what you ask theres no reason for you to return the money as your end is complete.

I'm satisfied since i now got the money but you kept saying you would send $15 back but never got it or heard back from you.. I agreed to the $20 you offered and that should of been it. Theres no reason to end this transaction yelling at me when all i'm doing is waitin for you to complete your end so i can end this and move on.

Thank you and i'll now agree to the return dispute since its now final.

If i get a reply from him i'll post it.. hehe.. jesus.

it sucks when you're ordering something and you're getting item that hasn't met your expectations but....
well, he refunded almost entire amount right?,
it's funny to see people making topics with "I'm getting scammed by *seller's name where that's not pretty much the case.
I wouldn't say you got scammed at all.
altough it was his fault he didn't state that he will be keeping some of $ because of the ebay fees.
and he wanted to work out the details after seeing you're not happy with transaction at all.

Wrong! His ebay sale states 30 days FULL REFUND back, No questions asked!

The only reason he did anything was because he wanted me to agree to the ebay return dispute so he could get his ebay fees returned from ebay.

The asshole says that i treated him like a dishonest person when right off the damn bat he says i damaged his shit and he's only giving me a partial refund! Then comes back well yeah ok but i wanted money to cover my fees. Lying ass.

I just checked auction you were talking about, does he charge crazy amount for shipping or what?
you won it for $350 + $10 shipping, but you say he should have sent you back $415 and he refunded only $385, so what's going on with that?

He claimed it was working when he sent it. It may have been, but the point is I paid him for a working one and never got it. I filed a paypal dispute a couple days ago, so now I'm just waiting for paypal to say this is somehow my fault.

If you don't mind me asking, who is pulling this bullshit on you circa2113?

added: GOD I HATE EBAY.

That guy does'nt have a return policy so it should be too much of a prob to get your money back.. Most likely you'll have to send it back to him which you better get some tracking and signature required when you send it in.

If he put "as is" then he'd have an argument but he didnt.

Filling with paypal is a good move cause he's gona have so many days to respond.. if not you'll get the money back.

If he refunds the money through PayPal the fees are cancelled out, so it's like a payment was never really sent to begin with. And if you both do the mutual refund thing through Ebay he gets his final value fees credited back, then after relisting if the item sells he also gets his insertion fees credited. So really, the only thing he loses out on is shipping costs, and if he tells you anything otherwise, he's full of shit.

He gets the original insertion fees credited back when he resells it?

I got back $405.. i guess i cant complain since i felt i was at his mercy with his "If its in the same condition i sold it in" terms.

Certainly didnt take him long to resell the system and for $5 more then i paid.. Even though its missing 1 of the feet lol.. Lies.

He doesn't get the original insertion fee back, he just doesn't have to pay it twice. You at least got most of your money back though, could've been worse. Ebay and PayPal are both incredibly lax when it comes to resolving a dispute.
