I'm curious how it is (I don't know how they can mess it up) and how the touch screen functions with the games.
matt009au said:so im guessing from the title that they are the arcade versions of these games right??

Fucker, I would've bought it. Didn't have time last week to go out.Gameoz said:I thought about listing it here but figured anyone that wanted it, probably already had it.

Anyways, the only redemption this collection has is arcade Gradius and Contra...dunno if you guys have noticed, but Konami's put out basically the same damn collection on the GBA and PS1. It's not as annoying as Namco and their lame ass Volumes, but still -- it's time to start putting out the really great arcade stuff, not these ancient games...
I am literally buying this collection only for Contra and Gradius. I hope this shit fails so hard so it drops in price and maybe Konami will realize they need to stop putting the same old shit on their collections.
Kunai said:Yie Ar Kung-Fu is a great port... sound is spot-on from what I can tell and it moves like the original. I remember the GBA port of Konami Classics for this game not being as accurate, and the arranged "versus" version was pretty unbalanced (it also wasn't a 1-player game in the arranged version).
Overall, I like this compilation. I love Shaolin's Road (aka Kicker), which I heard was the unofficial sequel to Yie Ar. Also, it's great to play Pooyan oddly enough... my sister had the LCD game a long time ago and I loved it to death. Rush'n Attack, Contra, Track & Field and Gradius are also nice additions. If it were me, though... I would have had games like Jackal or Super C or Double Dribble instead of Basketball or Scramble or Road Fighter.
I heard Namco is making yet another Namco Museum for DS... I just hope they have the arranged arcade versions of Pac-Man, Dig Dug, etc. I wouldn't mind seeing those iterations once again as long as they're done right and in TATE form. If you can't do emulate games from 20 years ago on a DS perfectly, something is wrong with your company.

I post about DS games all the time that nobody gives a shit about and the one time I get rid of a game, people love it.![]()
Ralfakick said:I've been waiting on it to play some pooyan, circus charlie, contra, and best of all track and field on the go (it's the only game my father would play with me growing up) it does seem like a decent collection I think basketball is terrible and agree that double dribble would have been better. I wish hypersports was on this too. How does the stylus interact on track and field, or is button mashing?
Gameoz said:All of the games use the buttons. The stylus is used on the bottom screen to select difficulty, lives ect.
The buttons are very responsive for all of the games. Track & Field is button mashing but it works great. It was probably my favorite game as it was fun to go for high scores and to see how many events I could compete in.
I couldn't get past high jump but it was still a lot of fun.
Ralfakick said:Thanks again, the high jump took me awhile to figure out on the NES.
Gameoz said:I don't remember the name, swing ball around and throw?
High Jump
You can select one or two lives in this game. I finally bumped it to two because I got tired of losing at the hurdles. I never did clear the time but with the extra life, I was able to move past them.
High Jump was a bitch but I know it was just a matter of figuring out when to jump and at what angle.
Ralfakick said:Hammer Throw, is skeet shooting included?
I don't remember the arcade at the moment but the nes didn't have the hammer throw and was this
100 yard dash
long jump
hurdles
javelin
skeet shooting
triple jump
archery
high jump

Gameoz said:Hammer Throw...I can't believe I forgot the name. I ripped a pretty good throw to qualify before ripping a couple into the cage.![]()
Sorry but I can't say what is after the High Jump since I failed to qualify. It is the arcade version though, so whatever was there, I am guessing is in this game. Damn...I am starting to want my copy back.![]()
