Best site for PSP appz?

New to the PSP scene.
I wanna load up some emu's and roms. All homebrew of course....

So many junk sites out there, I dont know which ones are legitimate....

People have told me to keep it stock firmware at first, especially if i want to run public apps. Is that true?

No, and pixeljunkie linked you to a good site. You'll probably want to look into custom firmware, but make sure you read everything. Don't want a brick.
