Stupid questions about CvS and GGX

In Capcom vs. SNK, how do you charge up the power meter using the SNK groove? I've tried holding down buttons, and mashing buttons, but I can't charge up the power meter.

In Guilty Gear X, how do you use your special technique? I have my meter charged up, and I do the motions right, but nothing happens. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Both games are Dreamcast imports, so the manualls are no help since they are in Japanese. Any help would be much appreciated.

Charging the meter in CVS is both strong buttons.

In GGX, the supers are motions with the meter charged. The kill moves are 4 buttons to change modes and a motion. What the move is depends on the character... I recommend tragic's GGX FAQ at gamefaqs.com in the DC GGX section.
