so if you didn't know:
http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159743

480 dollars for a US 3rd Strike set (no art) - with new battery installed.

this is your last chance to pick up one as I'm making alternative arangements for what's remaining. so that's probably going to be 5 I'm offering up.

interesting trades as part of payment welcome, but no guarantees that I'll take them - money is a priority.

Maybe someone can explain this to me. Why the hell is any type of CPS3 board worth its price tag? They arent that rare and they have such a very limited number of games. Every single one of them was ported but Red Earth which is also the cheapest title for the system. I dont get its value at all. Plus all the ports where near arcade perfect.

just out of respect fro the seller - me in this case - I'd appreciate it if you didn't post such things in the selling threads.
however to anwer your question partially - 3rd Strike is an amazing game with a strong following and great demand. factor in the quantity of dead kits out there and that the price is what people are prepared to pay for and you're part of the way to understanding.

also Red Earth - US kit - worth just as much as US 3S. there are other far cheaper CPS3 games out there.

Neo Collector - cara, how you doing? I'm after next gen systems mostly, might take other stuff too, but mostly after Wiis 360s and PS3s
could do with a cheap supergun.

I wasnt trying to cut you down or anything like that. All I was saying is I never understood why 3rd strike was worth so much. Plus you're wrong on the red earth thing. After check around every other cps3 game is worth less than 200 and 3rd Strike is worth about $500 on the lower end. So at least I know you're asking for a rather low price for your 3rd strike.

I know I am. and again - you are wrong about Red Earth - a US kit will sell upwards of 600 dollars.

I apologize, my comment was harsh before.

Warzard is the Japanese version of the game, which is pretty uncommon. They can be had for between $200-$350 usually for a full set.

Red Earth is the USA/Hispanic version of the game, which is extremely rare. Red Earth was only available for play in Capcom's nickel city arcades when they were still around, kind of a USA version of a location test. The game never really took off, so it never saw an official release. Hence why it demands around the $800 mark for a working, full set.

Hmm, $480 for a US 3rd Strike kit seems like a pretty darn good deal to me. Even back a few years ago, when they were cheaper and easier to find, you still couldn't touch a complete US CPS-3 set for under $350. 3rd Strike is expensive because its the best fighting game ever made and everyone wants it, but few poeple want to give theirs up; Red Earth is expensive cause its rare. Pretty simple really ;)

I heard when Capcom Coin-Op USA closed down they were selling their 3rd Strike kits for $100. Wish I knew about it back then.

just wanted to mention that 2 sets out of the 28 I bought suicided on their way to Bill - the other 26 work.

so I am also offering up these dead sets at a reduced price ofcourse. when they find a way of fixing the suicide issue these will probably be revivable.

200 dollars per dead set or a nice trade will be ok.

alright. of these, one is sold (thchardcore) and 2 are on hold pending. so it leaves 1 or 2 units on offer. that for the time being will be it. I may pop a couple up sooner or later but this is undetermined.

for the sets with the dead carts, make me a decent offer and we'll work something out.
